After growing up in Syracuse, NY, Dr. Mike Longstreet received an undergraduate degree in Zoology, and soon after pursued his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University in 2014. He drew inspiration for his career as a veterinarian from his time volunteering and caring for animals at animal shelters in high school. It was there his passion for animals shined.
Dr. Longstreet enjoys building relationships with both the pets he works with, and their owners. Another satisfying aspect about being a veterinarian according to Dr. Longstreet is, “The challenge of practicing medicine, including choosing the appropriate diagnostics and treatment, and seeing the improvement and relief of suffering of animals feel better.” His interest in veterinary surgery and preventative medicine became a focus as his career grew in the field. He is a proud member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, and a certified veterinarian of Fear Free Pets.
Dr. Longstreet is engaged to his fiancé, Dr. Cassie Bruno, a fellow veterinarian. They live together with 2 mixed breed rescue dogs, 2 parakeets, a lovebird, and their red eared slider turtle. In his free time, Dr. Longstreet enjoys gardening, brewing hard cider/wine, hanging out with their dogs, and traveling.
