Meet Dr. Danika Sorenson
Dr. Sorensen is a 2014 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania; she then completed a one year small animal rotating internship at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, NJ. Dr. Sorensen has been working as an emergency veterinarian for the past 5 years (from Florida to Delaware) but recently changed focus to being a full time relief practitioner while also pursuing her certification in both large and small animal medical acupuncture. She is most interested in toxicology, toxins vary from coast to coast, state to state and even urban vs. rural communities! You really can learn something new from all the different regions you may practice in as an emergency veterinarian which keeps her job fun and exciting! She loves that veterinary medicine is, as much of an art as it is a science. She says, “as veterinarians, our background is medical, but when working with animals there is a degree of understanding and interpreting animal body language and communication that cannot all be defined or learned in a textbook and really comes from hands on interaction with your patients.” In her free time Dr. Sorensen is an avid equestrian and has a furry pup named Raymond!
